What makes this program unique is that you can practice to our materials on CDs. which contain several features that will help you in leaps and bounds:

You receive the sound files with the text transcript to see how well you did.

You receive the “word preview” (up to 180wpm) in both sound and text files.

In order to meet the demands of court reporting today, “real-time” writing is a critical skill you must be able to master. We urge you to practice at home using a CAT program so you become proficient.

Steve Alpert started his career as a court reporter in 1977 and worked as a reporter for the Bronx District Attorney’s Office in the major offense bureau and the Bronx Grand Jury. Steve began teaching court reporting in 1978 at the Stenotype Institute and has been teaching ever since at several schools and colleges that offer training programs to court reporting students.  Additionally, Steve owned his own court reporting agency in the New York area.

One important tip that you should know as a student is to stay current with what is going to be your future profession.  We have included several links that you should read from time to time. This will make you more knowledgeable in this exciting career you are about to enter.
